Following a brief presentation on how standards setting processes work, and the current state of standards setting, the panel will discuss how civil society organizations can be involved, what is and is not feasible for standards as opposed to regulation, how AI standards can be evaluated and audited. We will then have Q&A with the panel, and an opportunity for discussion with other attendees. The discussion will assume significant familiarity with AI safety policy, and will be held under Chatham House rules.
